ARECA obtains GLOBALG.A.P. Compound Feed Manufacturing certification

Aves Reproductoras de Centroamerica S.A. (ARECA), part of Grupo PAF founded in 1958, is the first Guatemalan feed mill to obtain GLOBALG.A.P. Compound Feed Manufacturing (CFM) certification for the production of its aquaculture feeds of shrimp and tilapia.

"To be GLOBALG.A.P. certified demonstrates our commitment to warrant the quality of the aquaculture feeds we manufacture to our clients. Moreover, this opens the door to new international markets. We are all very proud of having obtained this certification as it is one of the best recognised worldwide," said Servando Benavides, Director of Production at ARECA.

Based in Gainesville, Florida, Quality Certification Services (QCS) offers the following certification options including Certified Organic, Certified Transitional, Certified Hormone/Antibiotic Free, Organic Aquaculture, GLOBALG.A.P. (several scopes), specific trade practices and Food Justice Certification, which will allow for consumers to choose to support a more just agricultural system.

QCS meets the needs of operations regardless of type, location, or size on the ever-expanding worldwide market. They are committed to meeting the unique needs of any business in a timely manner. QCS is the certification program of Florida Certified Organic Growers and Consumers Inc. (FOG), a nonprofit organisation that began certifying organic growers in 1989 and received its USDA accreditation in 2001.

GLOBALG.A.P. is the world's leading farm assurance programme, translating consumer requirements into Good Agriculture Practice in a rapidly growing list of countries.
