Monsanto to expand its operation in Ukraine

The US company Monsanto intends to expand its operational activities in Ukraine and boost the volume of investment in the development of agriculture industrial complex, Brett Begemann, company president, said at a meeting with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Alexander Motsuk.

According to Begemann the subsidiary of the company, Monsanto-Ukraine, has created a breeding station for research of the different seed varieties, which is located in the town of Uman and has already helped a lot of farmers to improve their production process.”

According to Motsuk, with the projects such as has been implemented by Monsanto, Ukraine may soon dramatically increase production of food and feed products.

“Ukraine is one of the few countries that has almost perfect conditions for agriculture. It is able in a short time to double food production, which is especially important in the context of global food security” Motsyk said.
