Ecobiol, a probiotic comprised solely of B. amyloliquefaciens spores which can be delivered via feed or drinking water, continues demonstrating its benefits such as improved performance in broilers. These spores can resist high pelleting temperatures, as well as physical agents and acidifiers.

Rosavis Prod srl (Romania), a company dedicated to chicken fattening, uses Ecobiol Soluble in combination with an antibiotic treatment during the first 4 days, and a commercial acidifier during the whole period. According to their manager and owner, Mr. Mihaila Vica, “after including Ecobiol Plus Soluble, at a dose of 50 g/1,000 l of water during the whole cycle, we saw improved production performances. Prior to the use of Ecobiol, our FCR was always in the range of 1.69 to 1.71, and mortality rates were around 5.0 to 5.5%.

In a first batch of 360,000 chicks, the FCR was improved till a value of 1.61 and, the mortality decreased to 4.2%. In a second batch, the FCR was improved to 1.646 and the mortality dropped to 3.7%. FBW to slaughterhouse were 2,365g in the first batch and 2,358g in the second one. Both cycles were 38 days. In addition, the carcasses of both lots scored better, in terms of quality of meat at abattoir, than the carcasses of birds that did not get Ecobiol.”
