Czech farmers to process energy crops

By the incorporation of the EC directive on subsidy payments for energy crops into Czech legislation, farmers in the Czech Republic are soon be able to process their own energy crops to produce biogas, electrical energy, heating and biofuels.

A government official said the measure would eliminate the need for farmers to transport energy crops to another processor.
