Phibro Animal Health launches new BA-King probiotic
Phibro Animal Health Corporation, a global diversified animal health and mineral nutrition company, has announced the launch of BA-King, Bacillus velezensis NITE BP-01844, a gut flora stabiliser for use in both in-feed and in-water applications, at the 2025 European Symposium on Poultry Nutrition. BA-King helps modulate gut microflora, which can lead to improved intestinal health performance in poultry.
Utrix celebrates 10 years
Utrix, a producer of feed solutions, marked its 10-year anniversary of its manufacturing facility in Lebanon on 18 June 2025. From humble beginnings in 2015, when the company began producing its own premixes and specialties, Utrix has evolved into a high-quality feed solutions and technical support company. Ten years later, the company remains the only GMP+ certified manufacturer of premixes, concentrates and feed additives in the Middle East and exports to a growing number of countries.
First COFCO Responsible Standard soy shipment to Thailand
COFCO International has shipped its first soybeans certified under its own COFCO International Responsible Agriculture Standard to Thailand. The cargo, shipped for Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Co., Ltd., a vegetable oil and animal feed manufacturer, was loaded in July in Santos, Brazil. The certified soybeans are verified as deforestation and conversion-free (DCF) since 31 December 2020, with on-farm audits covering sustainable water management, biodiversity conservation, and ethical labour practices.
Betagro invites analysts and fund managers to facility
Thailand’s integrated food company Betagro Public Company Limited recently welcomed analysts and fund managers to its Lopburi plants, offering a first-hand experience of its chicken processing and pet food operations. The visit aimed to strengthen business confidence by showcasing the company’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, and eco-friendly operations, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth.
Bafasal feed additive for poultry approved in the EU
Proteon Pharmaceuticals has confirmed that Bafasal, its bacteriophage-based feed additive, has received full regulatory approval from the European Union for use in poultry. This decision has now been formally adopted and published in the Official Journal of the European Union and the new Regulation will enter into force on 5 August 2025.
Journey begins for ABN in long-term mill project
British manufacturer of pig and poultry feed, ABN, has announced that the first stage of its new animal nutrition complex is now in progress. Having obtained planning permission to build a new compound feed manufacturing facility in the east of the UK in 2023, the AB Agri monogastric business is now entering an exciting stage of progress for the project.

Novus senior technical services manager Alex Hintz, DVM, will discuss the impact of pig nutrition on immunity in his lecture, ‘Nutritional Influence on Swine Immune Response and Development’ at the 17th Brazil South Swine Symposium. He will present data from swine and human studies to help develop nutritional strategies that optimise immune response and development.
Innovate Animal Ag launches innovation scholarship
Innovate Animal Ag has announced the IAA Poultry and Aquaculture Innovation Scholarship (IPAIS), aimed to recognise and support the next generation of leaders who will drive technological progress in poultry and aquaculture. The scholarship is open to undergraduates and high school seniors from agricultural backgrounds who are studying fields relevant to poultry or aquaculture, and who are planning to work in these sectors after graduating. IPAIS will award up to 3 students with US$4,000 and career advancement opportunities within their respective sector. Applications open 15 August.
Alltech releases 2024 Sustainability Report
Alltech’s 2024 Sustainability Report highlights the company’s commitment to sustainable agriculture, achieving double-digit growth while cutting Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 7.8% (26% since 2021). Key achievements include US$2.04 m invested in energy projects reducing 3,602 mt CO2-e, 5 zero-waste-to-landfill facilities, a new water stewardship strategy, and 57 product life-cycle analyses completed. Alltech is EUDR-compliant, advancing deforestation-free policies, with 799 research studies aligned to UN SDGs. The company also gained recognition from sustainability rating bodies, continues social engagement globally, and leads industry efforts in resilient food systems.
CCPA, at the heart of heat stress
CCPA developed Thermoplus to help ruminants during heat stress, reducing high body temperatures, improving cell protection, milk production, fertility, and comfort. Starting distribution 24 days before calving boosts lactation by 10%. This year, CCPA is launching Thermoplus Tarie, a ration additive for dry cows, specially formulated without buffering agents for the dry period.
Orffa expands reach in China through partnership with Co-Innova
Feed additive solutions company Orffa has announced a strategic collaboration with Co-Innova Animal Nutrition Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to strengthen its presence in China. This partnership will enable the distribution of Orffa’s flagship innovations Excential Energy Plus and Excential Selenium 4000 across key regions in China. Excential Energy Plus is a next-generation nutritional emulsifiers, while Excential Selenium 4000 is a highly bioavailable selenium source.
Nor-Feed accelerates its development as an Adisseo subsidiary
Two and a half years after being acquired by Adisseo, Nor-Feed, based in the Angers Technopole (France), confirms its focus on botanical solutions, in line with Adisseo Group’s global strategy. Nor-Feed has developed advanced expertise in the sourcing, characterisation and standardisation of specific active molecules extracted from plants, aimed at limiting the use of antibiotics, coccidiostats and pesticides. Being now part of the Adisseo group, Nor-Feed confirms its focus on botanicals dedicated to Swine and Poultry primarily.
Kemin expands Clostat availability to all pig categories
Kemin Industries announced EU approval of Clostat for all pig categories, effective 8 January 2025, for 10 years. Clostat aids pig producers worldwide in microbiome management and reducing antibiotic use. Previously approved only for and post-weaning piglets, it is now available for the entire pig production cycle.
Ceva Animal Health unveils new global headquarters
Ceva Animal Health has inaugurated its new global headquarters, a unique circular building, in Libourne, France. The new headquarters hosts 450 employees across 11,000 m² and 4 floors. Ceva now operates in 47 countries and employs more than 7,000 people worldwide.
Alltech awarded grant to expand biological fertiliser production in Kentucky
Alltech has been awarded a US$2.34 million grant from the USDA’s Fertilizer Production Expansion Program to bolster Alltech Crop Science’s biological fertiliser production. The funding will support the construction of a new US$4.6 million, 1,400 sqm manufacturing facility dedicated to producing biological fertilisers and crop inputs.

Topcon Agriculture announces enhanced boom height control solution with UC7 Plus
Topcon Agriculture has introduced the next generation of its boom height control technology for agricultural spraying applications with the launch of the UC7 Plus. Built on the foundation of Topcon’s Norac boom height control technologies, the UC7 Plus allows farmers and crop service providers to further reduce inputs, improve crop performance, and reduce equipment maintenance costs with improved height and spray control capabilities.
dsm-firmenich releases mycotoxin survey results
dsm-firmenich has released its World Mycotoxin Survey results for January to June 2025, analysing 10,868 samples from 81 countries. The survey found deoxynivalenol (DON), zearalenone (ZEN), and fumonisins (FUM) to be the most common mycotoxins, with the highest contamination in the Americas, South Asia, China, and Taiwan. Key highlights include high exposure to DON and ZEN in North American livestock, elevated fumonisin levels in Central and South America, widespread aflatoxin presence in South Asia, and near-universal fumonisin detection in China/Taiwan and East Asia. Europe faces significant challenges with DON, aflatoxins, and fumonisins.
Mississippi state professor honored with Novus poultry award
Pratima Adhikari, Ph.D., DVM, is the latest recipient of the Novus Outstanding Teaching Award. She received the honor during the Poultry Science Association Annual. The award celebrates educators who are making a difference in advancing poultry agriculture inside the classroom and throughout the entire industry. As associate professor in the Department of Poultry Science at Mississippi State University, Adhikari divides her time between research activities and teaching in the classroom. Her teaching appointments include Management of Commercial Layers, Advanced Poultry Nutrition (graduate level), and undergraduate seminars.

The company is also renewing its focus on the animal agriculture industry in Vietnam with the addition of Cuong ‘Kevin’ Nguyen as executive sales manager for the country. Born and raised in Vietnam, Nguyen previously served as business development manager at Anitox Southeast Asia and Archer Daniels Midland, Ho Chi Minh City. He has earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine and an MBA with a focus in agribusiness.
