Phibro Animal Health Corporation, a global diversified animal health and mineral nutrition company, has announced the launch of BA-King, Bacillus velezensis NITE BP-01844, a gut flora stabiliser for use in both in-feed and in-water applications, at the 2025 European Symposium on Poultry Nutrition. BA-King helps modulate gut microflora, which can lead to improved intestinal health performance in poultry.
Utrix, a producer of feed solutions, marked its 10-year anniversary of its manufacturing facility in Lebanon on 18 June 2025. From humble beginnings in 2015, when the company began producing its own premixes and specialties, Utrix has evolved into a high-quality feed solutions and technical support company. Ten years later, the company remains the only GMP+ certified manufacturer of premixes, concentrates and feed additives in the Middle East and exports to a growing number of countries.
COFCO International has shipped its first soybeans certified under its own COFCO International Responsible Agriculture Standard to Thailand. The cargo, shipped for Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Co., Ltd., a vegetable oil and animal feed manufacturer, was loaded in July in Santos, Brazil. The certified soybeans are verified as deforestation and conversion-free (DCF) since 31 December 2020, with on-farm audits covering sustainable water management, biodiversity conservation, and ethical labour practices.

Proteon Pharmaceuticals has confirmed that Bafasal, its bacteriophage-based feed additive, has received full regulatory approval from the European Union for use in poultry. This decision has now been formally adopted and published in the Official Journal of the European Union and the new Regulation will enter into force on 5 August 2025.

Innovate Animal Ag has announced the IAA Poultry and Aquaculture Innovation Scholarship (IPAIS), aimed to recognise and support the next generation of leaders who will drive technological progress in poultry and aquaculture. The scholarship is open to undergraduates and high school seniors from agricultural backgrounds who are studying fields relevant to poultry or aquaculture, and who are planning to work in these sectors after graduating. IPAIS will award up to 3 students with US$4,000 and career advancement opportunities within their respective sector. Applications open 15 August.

Feed additive solutions company Orffa has announced a strategic collaboration with Co-Innova Animal Nutrition Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to strengthen its presence in China. This partnership will enable the distribution of Orffa’s flagship innovations Excential Energy Plus and Excential Selenium 4000 across key regions in China. Excential Energy Plus is a next-generation nutritional emulsifiers, while Excential Selenium 4000 is a highly bioavailable selenium source.
Two and a half years after being acquired by Adisseo, Nor-Feed, based in the Angers Technopole (France), confirms its focus on botanical solutions, in line with Adisseo Group’s global strategy. Nor-Feed has developed advanced expertise in the sourcing, characterisation and standardisation of specific active molecules extracted from plants, aimed at limiting the use of antibiotics, coccidiostats and pesticides. Being now part of the Adisseo group, Nor-Feed confirms its focus on botanicals dedicated to Swine and Poultry primarily.
Kemin Industries announced EU approval of Clostat for all pig categories, effective 8 January 2025, for 10 years. Clostat aids pig producers worldwide in microbiome management and reducing antibiotic use. Previously approved only for and post-weaning piglets, it is now available for the entire pig production cycle.

Alltech has been awarded a US$2.34 million grant from the USDA’s Fertilizer Production Expansion Program to bolster Alltech Crop Science’s biological fertiliser production. The funding will support the construction of a new US$4.6 million, 1,400 sqm manufacturing facility dedicated to producing biological fertilisers and crop inputs.

dsm-firmenich has released its World Mycotoxin Survey results for January to June 2025, analysing 10,868 samples from 81 countries. The survey found deoxynivalenol (DON), zearalenone (ZEN), and fumonisins (FUM) to be the most common mycotoxins, with the highest contamination in the Americas, South Asia, China, and Taiwan. Key highlights include high exposure to DON and ZEN in North American livestock, elevated fumonisin levels in Central and South America, widespread aflatoxin presence in South Asia, and near-universal fumonisin detection in China/Taiwan and East Asia. Europe faces significant challenges with DON, aflatoxins, and fumonisins.
Pratima Adhikari, Ph.D., DVM, is the latest recipient of the Novus Outstanding Teaching Award. She received the honor during the Poultry Science Association Annual. The award celebrates educators who are making a difference in advancing poultry agriculture inside the classroom and throughout the entire industry. As associate professor in the Department of Poultry Science at Mississippi State University, Adhikari divides her time between research activities and teaching in the classroom. Her teaching appointments include Management of Commercial Layers, Advanced Poultry Nutrition (graduate level), and undergraduate seminars.

He has earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine and an MBA with a focus in agribusiness.
