Canadian company Buhler Industries Inc. sold its subsidiary BMW
MachineWorks Ltd. to a company controlled by Canadian Tool & Die Ltd. This
move will focus Buhler's assets on the manufacturing and marketing of farm
"Instead of allocating time and resources to producing components, we can
focus our energy on building and distributing products," said Dr. Ossama
AbouZeid, president and CFO of Buhler Industries. "All employees will remain
employed with BMW MachineWorks with no loss of benefits." Under the new
ownership, BMW MachineWorks will continue to supply components to Buhler.
Buhler Industries designs, manufactures and
distributes agricultural equipment out of seven manufacturing and nine
distribution centres, totalling more than 1.6 million sq. ft. of facilities in
the US and Canada and employs more than 800 people.
Tool & Die Group
The Canadian Tool & Die Group is a supplier to
the North American agricultural and industrial manufacturing sectors,
specializing in hubs, wheels, spindles, hydraulic cylinders and custom machining
for both agricultural and industrial machinery manufacturers, as well as gray
and ductile castings.
