India needs rationing system for cattle feed

The Kerala Livestock Inspectors Association (KLIA) in India has urged the Government to introduce rationing system for cattle feed.

At a press conference in connection with the two-day 48th annual convention
of the KLIA to be held from January 13, KLIA president S. Jayakumar and general
secretary A. Gangadharan said that farmers should be given some kind of bonus
for milk production.
They said that
farmers were moving away from livestock rearing owing to the high cost of cattle
feed.

KLIA annual convention
Minister for Food and Civil Supplies C. Divakaran will
inaugurate the KLIA annual convention. An agricultural seminar organised in
connection with the convention will be inaugurated by Labour Minister P.K.
Gurudasan. Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran will inaugurate a
public meeting. A State-level gold medal will be presented to the best dairy
farmer. Mr. Gurudasan will present the medal.
