Sharp increase in 2007 Provimi sales
Sales of the Dutch animal feed producer Provimi have grown sharply by 13.9%
in the first half year of 2007. In this period, total sales amounted to €976.5
million.
Recent acquisitions contributed to the sales with by €39.8 million. Adverse
exchange rates, predominantly the American dollar and the Chilean peso, caused a
negative effect of approximately €13 million.
Sales mainly increased in
Northern America (+36.7%) and France (+22.9%). Poland also saw a strong increase
(+16%).
These increases, reflecting a global growth could make up for a
volume decrease in China, which was mostly attributable to difficult conditions
in the swine sector. Profit figures will be released at September 11.
