US based BRI receives FAMI-QS certification
BioResource International, Inc. (BRI), an agricultural biotechnology company specialising in the research and development of enzymes, has received the European Feed Additives and Premixtures Quality System Certification (FAMI-QS) for its manufacturing facility in Apex, North Carolina.
The audit was conducted by Underwriter’s Laboratories, Inc. and Deutsch Quality Systems (UL-DQS), a global leader in the assessment and certification of quality and safety management systems.
The FAMI-QS Code of Practice is comprised of regulations that govern the approval and registration of manufacturers of feed additives for use in animal nutrition. It specifies requirements in the areas of quality and feed safety, management systems, traceability and product regulatory compliance. FAMI-QS is the only certification specific to specialty feed ingredients and their mixtures and is designed to ensure compliance with the European Union Feed Hygiene Regulation.
