French pet food plant bought by Provimi
The Provimi Group, a global leader in the animal nutrition, has announced the acquisition of the assets of SESA, a private label pet food company located in France, one of the top three pet food markets in Europe. This acquisition falls in-line with Provimi’s strategy to expand in higher margin categories.
The production assets of SESA have been acquired by the newly created
entity Provimi Pet Food France. SESA, founded in 1992, produces both dry pet
food for cats and dogs and semi-moist pet food for dogs. The current total
production capacity amounts to 50,000 tonnes.

With a production facility in France, Provimi expects to even better serve
its pan-European customers: the large hyper- and supermarket chains. Among the
Western European countries, France shows the strongest growth for private label
