IFIF chairman welcomes cooperation at ASEAN feed summit

Mr. Pornsil Patchrintanakul, President of the Thai Feed Mill Association, and moderated by Alexandra de Athayde, IFIF Executive Director, brought together senior feed regulators and industry representatives from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

Mario Sergio Cutait, IFIF Chairman, welcomed “the opportunity to join this important Summit and to work towards closer collaboration in Asia.” He congratulated participants on their strong efforts to ensure safe feed & food in their countries and added “that only by working together at regional and global level with all stakeholders on the agri chain can we continue to ensure feed and food safety, while meeting the global demands for 60% more food by 2050 safely and sustainably.”

During the discussion a number of issues were identified for further potential cooperation, including capacity development for feed safety, efforts towards regulatory harmonisation, as well as the need to work with all stakeholders on agri-food chain on common challenges.
