To prevent forests from being cut down illegal to grow soy, international agreements have been made to prevent deforestation for soy cultivation.
The increasing global demand for soy results in further clearing of the rainforest mainly in South America, thus increasing concerns about the environmental and socio-economic problems caused by soybean production.
