Provimi to focus on dairy and piglets at EuroTier

Provimi (part of Cargill) will put focus on two different additives at the EuroTier. An ingredient for dairy cow diets and one product for piglets.

Amaferm is a feed additive (zootechnical additive) that helps farmers to improve dairy cow performance. It provides rumen fungi the nutrients required to accelerate their ability to more completely digest fiber components in the ration and hence increase milk production.

Trials at Futterkamp

A range of recent local trials have been done to validate the effect of the product on dairy cow performance, showing a consistent result across a wide range of diets. The most recent experiment was carried out at Futterkamp, the research and training farm of Schleswig-Holstein, where milk production increased with 1 kg/d, even though the cows were already very efficient at a feed efficiency of 1.61 kg fat- and protein corrected milk per kg dry matter.

Milk replacer for piglets

RescueMilk, part of the RescuePig concept, is a  piglet milk replacer developed by Cargill’s Provimi business. The product has been formulated specifically to replace or to complement the sow¿s milk. It is guaranteed to satisfy the energy and protein requirements of the piglets. Providing the product will help to reduce piglet mortality and improve pre-weaning growth rates and weaning weights. It will also stimulate the development of the digestive tract of the piglet which will contribute to a smooth transition to the dry prestarter diet and help avoid a dip in growth rates.
